Dermal Filler Treatment

What is it?

Filler is a clear, sterile gel-like substance which is a synthetic version of Hyaluronic Acid. This is naturally present in our bodies and distributed widely through our tissue assisting our bodies to maintain water and volume.

How is works?

The Hyaluronic Acid (Filler) adds volume to the treatment area, while the hydrating effects improve the appearance of the skin. The effects of Hyaluronic Acid fillers are instant and generally last 6 to 18 months, depending on the area and product used.

The Procedure

Dermal filler can cause some discomfort therefore a topical numbing cream is applied prior to cleansing of the skin. The Dermal Filler is injected into the treatment area – several different techniques are used for the desired outcome, and the procedure can take 30 – 40 mins to administer using several injections. The Hyaluronic acid filler contains 0.3% lidocaine (local anaesthetic property) for your comfort as well as the cream used.

What to expect

Due to the use of the needle there is a high chance of some bleeding, swelling and bruising to the injection site, this also may cause some stinging, itching or discomfort. However, should subside within 2 weeks.

To reduce side effects and reactions please adhere to aftercare advice supplied after procedure.

Consultations

Dermal Filler does not require a prescription, however a consultation is required. Consultation involves health screening, consent and planning a tailored made treatment plan for you. Clinics are running regularly and available at The Sherborne Therapy Rooms and Arcardia Spa
